The Rake’s Progress (100209 - 100412)

The immoral millionaire heir Tom Rakewell is obsessed with wealth. He falls into the arms of the devil himself, who prepares the way for the young man’s decline into poverty and madness. The demonic-comic opera was composed in 1951 as a melodically extravagant paraphrase over the styles of classical composers, with a Stravinsky twist. The Rake’s Progress is performed in English with Danish supertitles.
