Illum

Copenhagen’s first large shopping centre has existed for 114 years. In spite of its long history, it’s a modern center and was drastically renovated in 2007, when more than 50% of the mall was renewed with unique concepts and strong brands. On five floors you can find everything from jewelry, delicacies and clothes to sport’s goods, perfumes and cafes. The mall is focused on the little more luxurious brands such as Hugo Boss, Armani, Bruuns Bazaar, Acne and Kenzo. Illum and Copenhagen’s other large, upscale shopping centre Magasin du Nord, has the same owner nowadays, so it’s basically the same selection of goods. However Illum is still characterized by its fashionable interior decoration and atmosphere, and is also famous for its glass elevator where you can look out over the street and the pedestrians. There is a large parking house and it’s open on Sundays once a month.
