Bakken

Bakken

Dyrehavsbakken, commonly known as Bakken, is the world’s oldest amusement park dating back to over 400 years ago. Here you find merry-go-rounds and attractions such as the classic wooden roller coaster from 1932. On the open-air stage there's entertainment for all ages with performances from all over the world. You can also find plenty of arcades, restaurants, bars and cafés. The park came about because Kirsten Piil discovered a source of water on the location in 1583. The source was believed to have healing powers and people started to go on pilgrimage to the place. Jesters showed up to amuse the gathered people and that's how the area developed into an amusement park. Bakken has about 2.5 million visitors every year. The park is open from March to August.
