Spiseloppen

Spiseloppen is a restaurant that proves that Christiania is not just a place for hashish and falafel-lovers. Here you are offered a menu that changes almost every day, and which can be inspired by almost any country at all since the chefs consists of 16 different nationalities. Spiseloppen is run as a collective and has no owner. The food is varied and very price worthy. You can for example order fried duck with Mediterranean vegetables, grated figs with mozzarella cheese, tarragon roasted asparagus-potatoes with green pepper sauce for 155 DKK, or enjoy an entree consisting of Russian pancakes filled with buttery portabella mushroom for just 50 DKK. Every day they offer a very well prepared vegetarian dish. This restaurant is not only frequented by the local Christiania-residents but by all sorts of people from Copenhagen and abroad. Even politicians dining with foreign guests have been spotted here.
