Since Copenhagen is surrounded by water, a guided tour by boat is a perfect way to experience the city and see many of the famous sights. Søerne (=the lakes) is originally old embankments which was to protect Copenhagen from the west and east. A tour with the tourist boatsDFDS Canal Tours offers guided tours from Gammel Strand and Nyhavn every 30 minutes in summertime, and on Saturdays in the winter. By kayak or a bus on waterIf you want to be a bit more active, you may rent a kayak. Every day from May to October you can paddle with professional instructors, which guides you around Christianshavn’s canals and the dock.
