Umami

The fifth flavour is called Umami and is also the name of a renowned Japanese-French restaurant in Copenhagen. The fusion Japanese and French may seem odd, but Umami´s concept is the Japanese focus on natural and fresh ingredients whose pure flavours are inhanced by the French cooking tradition. Innovative courses like panko fried scallops with jalapenos, garlic sauce, wasabi mayonnaise and tobiko roe and seared foie gras with eel, nashi pear, black beans and seaweed salad are on the menu. They also offer different sushi such as nigiri with duck breast with leek or gunkan maki with seared foie gras, or beef tartare with quail´s eggs. Umami has a adherent sushi bar to the restaurant, where you don´t need to make a reservation. They also have Umami GO take away with home delivery and catering.
