Copenhagen has a lot of parks that suits perfectly for a picnic during nice weather. In Frederiksberg Have which surrounds Frederiksborg Slot, you find Chinese pavilions, temples and a dripstone cave. Bernstorffsparken is a lovely park, designed with inspiration from the romantic English landscape gardens. Here you can stroll amongst large green lawns, oak- and beeches woods and visit The Queen Louise’s Teahouse with a view over the rose garden. Fredensborg Slot & Slotshave and Kongens Have are also popular spots for couples in the spring and summer. Fredensborg Slotshave has the largest and most well-preserved baroque gardens in Denmark with 70 sculptures to look at. Tivoli is also worth a visit at any season. When the spring arrives, Tivoli is decorated with thousands of flowers, plants and Chinese lanterns in beautiful colors that lights up the park when it gets dark. Then you can take a walk around the lake and watch the fireworks.
One of the most well-known tourist attractions in Copenhagen is Tivoli, situated in city centre by the central station. Whether you want to try the merry-go-rounds or just want to experience the city's oldest, biggest, prettiest and most romantic amusement park, Tivoli is worth a visit. During summertime, the park is decorated with more than 600 000 flowers, alliums and colourful lanterns, that once inspired H.C Andersen to write ”The Nightingale”.Actually Walt Disney himself was inspired to his own Disneyland after a visit here. If you want to eat you have lots and lots to choose from, anything from gourmet dinners at NIMB, Asian food from Wagamama, or something simpler like burgers or waffles. You can find a wide variety of concerts with famous rock- and pop bands, vaudeville shows, ballet, and theater scenes. Surely, you have to try one of the attractions. The dodgems takes you on a trip you wouldn´t take in real-life traffic. The Odin express gives a thrilling train ride and if you are a bit of a coward you can go for a sail in the dragon boats. But if you feel that no height is high enough you should try Himmelskibet, which is Tivoli's newest attraction. It's the world’s tallest ride and can swing you 80 meters into the air!
